Our Moving Up Night is Thursday, February 2. The night will commence at 5:30 p.m. in the Commons to welcome our upcoming Head of School, Dr. Spencer Taintor and our new Lower School Head, Mary Margaret King. We will then head to the theater where a brief presentation will be given from Dr. Taintor and Mrs. King. From there, you will be dismissed to classrooms to hear about the upcoming and exciting possibilities your child will experience next school year. This is a night you do not want to miss! The Minnick Advisory in Middle School held a fund raiser today, selling cupcakes, donuts, candy canes and hot chocolate, raising $84.00 which will be contributed to Child Fund International. We have raised enough to donate one chicken farm for a family in Brazil and one mosquito net for a needy family somewhere in Africa. We are planning to repeat our fundraising sometime in the coming months.

Eleven years ago when Katie Lerch, current Ninth Grade student at The Calverton School was in Pre-Kindergarten, she shared The Salvation Army’s, “Dress a Bear” program with Calverton. Each child in Katie’s class took home a bear, dressed it in an outfit, delivered it back to school, and the bears were sent to The Salvation Army to be distributed to less fortunate children during the holidays.
