Is ever after really as happy as everyone expected? Middle school students at The Calverton School comically explore this question in their upcoming musical, “Ever After” on Friday, Nov. 20 at 7pm and Saturday, Nov. 21 at 2pm at the School’s Bowen Thomas Center. Both shows are FREE and open to the public!
“Ever After” is a hilarious parody of daytime TV, hosted by Helen Generous who wonders if time truly heals all wounds. She invites Cinderella and her middle-aged stepsisters to reconcile with each other, and investigates the relationship between Snow White and the Evil Queen. The production is a funny, fractured fairy tale that has it all: a trash-talking clairvoyant mirror, an unfortunate prince who is turning slowly back into a frog and even Jiminy Cricket—now an occupational therapist and author of the book “My Life as Your Conscience.”
The hour-long musical is packed with knee-slapping, hand-clapping, foot-tapping songs like "Beauty Impaired" and "Dainty Do-Gooder" performed by the middle school students and a live band. Calverton students carry out their roles with humor, comic timing, and a bit of fun-loving goofiness that’s sure to earn more than a few audience laughs.
Come see Calverton's Middle School production of "Ever After" and find out how your favorite fairy tale characters fared. The End.
